I was on Whitehouse.gov today looking to see if there was someplace I could share how the President has inspired me. Believe me, he's given me a great deal of inspiration throughout his terms. What caught my eye though was the featured policy link: NOW IS THE TIME TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT GUN VIOLENCE (See our plan).
Wow! Who's not against gun violence...right? I mean other than Hollywood (lots of films featuring that), and people with behavioral issues and psychotic tendencies to name a few. How could you disagree? Wanting to know more...I clicked through.
Oh no! Now I'll never know the President's plan.
I had to grab a snip. I didn't think anyone would believe me otherwise. The last time I got a result like this was early into Obama's first term and following the White House website's link for "Ethics". (There were no ethics to display.)
Back to my earlier point, how the President has inspired me. I've been inspired to do something about gun violence too, working with and supporting people who already have a practical plan. People who would be happy to have a serious and meaningful discussion about gun violence with the President. People who I respect and support. Leadership in the NRA and ISRA...wait a minute. Something just occurred to me. Maybe it wasn't POTUS who inspired me after all. Maybe it's people like Wayne LaPierre (NRA), Rich Pearson (ISRA), my State Rep Tom Cross and the thousands of others I marched with at IGOLD last week (Looking forward to next year!) among others. Upon reflection, maybe it wasn't this President after all who inspired me to become a NRA Life Member...or was it? (hmm...)
